1. Locate the axle hole on the rear wheel. It will be near the axle nut, which tightens the wheel to the frame.
2. Slide the axle through the hole and through the hub of the wheel.
3. Attach the axle nut to the threaded end of the axle, and hand-tighten it until it is snug.
4. Place the axle blocks on either side of the axle. These will keep the axle from turning as you tighten the axle nut.
5. Use a wrench to tighten the axle nut. Be sure to use a torque wrench to ensure that it is tightened to the proper torque specification listed in the owner’s manual.
6. Put the wheel back onto the motorcycle frame and tighten the axle nut to the correct torque specification specified in the owner’s manual.
7. Check the torque on the axle nut periodically to ensure that it is still tight.
